Ive run I 10 from Cali to Fla. Pretry much sucks and it seems like you will NEVER make it through Tx. Especially with a wife and two cats in the car.
Made that run after finishing AIT at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama to my first duty station at Ft Lewis WA back in the day.
Wife was 4 months pregnant, two cats, Honda civic pulling a u-haul took me 2 1/2 days to get across Texas.
I still hate Texas.
Yes Texas is big. It was a lot bigger.

I was headed from Ft Stockton TX to Ft Campbell KY, and when we were exactly half-way there, we were still in Texas.
