A Marine stands guard while a brave young child dies.
“Every now and then, in the middle of the constant barrage of crap that’s just pissing us all off these days, we come across a story, a feat, an event that just makes us stop in our tracks. This was one for me.
“Cody Green was a 12-year kid in Indiana who was diagnosed with leukemia at 22 months old. He loved the Marines, and his parents said he drew strength and courage from the Marine Corps as ... he bravely fought the battle into remission three times. Although he was cancer-free at the time, the chemotherapy had lowered his immune system and he developed a fungus infection that attacked his brain. Two weeks ago, as he struggled to fend off that infection in the hospital, the Marines wanted to show how much they respected his will to live, his strength, honor and courage. They presented Cody with Marine navigator wings and named him an honorary member of the United States Marine Corps.
“For one Marine, that wasn't enough ... so that night, before Cody Green passed away, he took it upon himself to stand guard at Cody's hospital door all night long, 8 hours straight.
“Nowhere on the face of this planet is there a country so blessed as we to have men and women such as this.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WNCN)– The Fort Bragg community is rallying behind one of their own who is currently in the hospital.

Rock Merritt is a World War II paratrooper who jumped into Normandy and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He also fought in Vietnam and went on to serve as the First Command Sergeant Major of the 18th Airborne Corps. Fort Bragg said he’s the only soldier to hold the position twice.

Fort Bragg officials are asking the community to send letters of encouragement for Rock as he’s in the hospital.

His condition is not being made public, but Fort Bragg officials said he does not have COVID-19.

Letters can be sent to the below address:

XVIII Airborne Corps PAO

2175 Reilly Road, Stop A

Fort Bragg, NC 28310

Having recently spent 4.5 months in the hospital with our daughter struggling through a very rough start in life, including hart surgery, this bought tears to my eyes.

No kids should have to spend time in a hospital. No kids should have to battle cancer or any other terminal illness. I have the outmost respect and admiration for all who struggle and all who help, in what ever way.

@502Chevelle an old friends recon team trained with Flipper and co about the same time that picture was taken in Bahrain. My friend told me stories of how horny the dolphins were and how they would occasionally Harvey Weinstein a Marine on a swim, the way he told the stories had 5 of us laughing so hard we were crying.
Dolphins are the rapist of the sea. You never hear good shit about them from anyone who's really around them
