Reminds me of working for an auto dealership in the 80's.
Seems a mechanic took a short nap on the fender of a car while he was stretched out pulling plugs from the left side of the engine. The dealership owner walked through the shop and saw him. Owner took his cigarette lighter and set fire to the shop rag sticking out of the mechanics back pocket. Hillarity ensued. There may have been a few pitchers of beer invloved during lunch that let to the cat nap.

Not really

Reminds me of a story told by one of the guys I tramped with back in the day. He knew the this feller.

During the Colorado uranium boom mining jobs were easy to come by, paid really well, and many enjoyed the fruits of their labors to excess, got a little sleep and made the next shift.

One hand had a wife and kids and had been told multiple times that if he kept staying out all night she was taking the kids and leaving. After one Friday shift he closed the bar, slept a bit, and back to the bar he went, only to close it down again. Continued the party at a buddy's house, got some sleep and headed home. No car in the driveway, no wife, no kids in the house. She was gone. He packed a few things, tramped to Arizona and hired out in the copper mines for a while. After about three months a long weekend came up and he took the trip back north to see the gang. Driving past his old place he saw the car was in the drive. He stopped, went to the door and knocked. His wife answered, looked him over and asked where he'd been. Told her he had come home one morning months ago and the house was empty, her and the kids was gone. Said he understood and had gone off to another job.

She just looked him in the eye and said "Honey, it was Sunday, we were at church".

True story,
