To this day... the most glorious video ever posted on Youtube.

And, not only that, they actually sang it correctly! They sang, "Baaaaaaaaaaner yet wave" and not "Baaaaaa-aaaaaah-ner yet wave" as a lot of people do, falsely. Yeah, I know... I'm way too anal about that. But, for Pete's sake.... it's the National Anthem. Proper respect would be nice.

TBH, I cringe when I hear some of today's celebrities sing it at sporting events, etc. I don't think I could ever listen to a "Mariah Carrey" class of singer putting their own "soul spin" on it... Not that MC is a bad singer, she's fantastic. But the National Anthem is something I believe should be sung as straight and original as it was written. Boring? Maybe, but it still deserves that respect.

And, in case anyone doesn't know, the tune (written by John Stanford Smith) was based on an old English song used as an initiation rite to Smith's social club, namely the Anacreonic Society... a society that celebrated the Greek God, Anacreon, the God of Food and Drink... mostly Drink. :D To be a member of the club, you had to sing this song correctly... no mistakes. All "six" verses. Anyway, here it is.... "To Anacreon in Heaven" You'll notice that there is never a "glottal stop" in the place where a lot of stars sing "Baaaaa-aaaaa-ner" incorrectly.
