Re: Moto GP
I like Dovizioso and Pedrosa. Stoner, I guess. Hey, it's Repsol Honda, and I have a Honda...so there's my bias.
Dislike Simoncelli, he's reckless and pushes far too hard, causes wrecks and gets people hurt. It's no surprise the other riders don't like him...losing a few races to injury downtime can translate to not being able to go for the championship and a wasted season. An injury has serious opportunity costs to the team, and in a bad enough wreck, you risk losing your career or your life to serious injury. Simoncelli doesn't finish well often, and when he does, points deductions for bad riding are gonna cost him. Cutting off another racer by rocketing ahead on the entrance to a corner, then slamming on the brakes late in the corner and dropping inside...bumping or forcing the other guy off the road is not good GP racing.
Lorenzo has talent, but I'm not a big Yamaha fan. Ben Spies you gotta like if only because he's American and can practically slide/drift his bike all the way through a corner.
Rossi has serious talent, but that Ducati is a ride-killer. It's too stiff to get a feel for the track, and the Hondas and Yamahas corner so much better that as good as he is, he can't keep up, because he is fighting the Ducati the whole way. He should go back to Yamaha, or Honda...or heck, even ride a Kawasaki until Ducati figures out how to make a race bike. "Italian" doesn't always mean "the best" just because...although on the road around here you find plenty of barely-licensed Ducati riders with more money than sense...or skill. They are nice, although not really comfortable streetbikes, but they need some fine tuning to dominate racing again.
