Just purchased a Docter Red Dot with the intent to use it on my AR with 1-4x (for now)...

First off, some might ask "why an offset when you have a 1-whatever variable?". I'm looking to purchase a supplementary (fixed 12x, 3-15x, something like that) or replacement (think 2.5-10x, 3-9x something like that) optic after the turn of the year. The 1-4x works really well when cranked down and even without illumination on for me. Shooting groups I feel more comfortable with more magnification, not that I'm NOT capable with the 4x mag...MOA sized groups are attainable. Still sorting out if I truly want to replace it or what...that's another discussion though.

Anyhow, what I'm really looking for is help with a mount...the red dot came with half of an ACOG mount attached and has no rail interface as is. Right now, it looks like my best bet is this from Larue...

Simple. Screw the optic onto the mount and install on scope tube. However, I've shot an ACOG with 12 o'clock mounted backup red dot and I'm not the biggest fan of breaking the cheekweld and dot hunting. Using that Larue mount I'd probably have to roll the rifle and peek between the turrets for the dot...which I still have to break the cheekweld for. I was hoping there would be a rail-mounted offset mount that has an interface for the Docter...if it had wings to protect the optic it would be even better...seems no such thing exists though...?

Am I overlooking a mount somewhere?? I've googled the shit out of it and checked every manufacturer page I could think of..

Predator Tactical Burkett Gen 2 mount for Docter Optic. I have one on an AR with a 1-6 and leave the SS on 6x with the red dot for close in shots. It's 45* offset so just rotate the gun while maintaining your cheek weld.

I like that the Burrket mount has the protective wings.

I went for the 1'oclock mount though with my setup, instead of a 45 deg mount. I like that I don't have to roll the rifle very far to get behind the dot. this is a Triji RMR in Larue QD, but basically the same type of thing.

An ADM QD mount on a Weaver or Daniel Defense 1 o'clock rail would work well too.
