I'm very interested in buying a MK II FVSR and swapping the stock . I'd like to know if there would be a picatinny adapter for the Boyds Tacticool or any other stock that would allow me to mount my Atlas Bipod. I'm looking for a drop-in solution as there is no decent smith in Yellowknife.

Can't think of any stocks that come with a pic rail OTB. A forum member: S1erra1, has an AI chassis coming out soon for the Savage Mark II so you can get a spigot adapter for the Atlas. Apart from that, you'll need to get a picatinny rail installed either by yourself or by a 'smith.

I have a Savage FV-SR with a Tacticool stock. I just ordered a Blackhawk "Swivel Stud Picatinny Rail Adaptor" for this exact reason. I will report back when I get the part in hand later this week or next week. Everything I have read is that the adaptor is pretty solid and reliable.

I removed the front swivel stud mount and bolted the shortest magpul rail through the hole. I drilled relief holes for the locating tabs, took 10 mins, cost about $5, works brilliantly.

I took a file to an old weaver scope base, opened up the slot to accept the cross bolt.
Then used a couple of wood screws to hold the base on the forend.
