Mounting Atlas bipod question??

Hey everyone, I have looked all over and cannot figure out exactly which atlas and mount I need. I'm mounting to an AICS 2.0. I have attached 2 pics, one with the mount setup which i want and the other is the one I dont want.. If someone wouldnt mind, could you please attach or list the setup pictured.. thanks.

I dont like how far out the bipod is in this picture:

please excuse my ignorance, I am not familiar at all with atlas bipods or this stock. thanks

Top is the old atlas ai mount without the tension screw. Bottom looks like some type of nv mount with the newer ai atlas mount with tension screw. U want the version with the tension adjustment, without it the bipod has a some play.

is there a way to have the tensioning mount mounted closer to the stock? basically, can the black piece be removed from the stock and the atals spigot replace it?

That black piece you're speaking of looks like a nv mount which isn't part of the atlas. So if u don't buy an nvd mount their will be no black piece there

The knob on the front of the atlas is used to tighten it down

The additional black piece you are seing is from AI. It comes on thier newer stocks. If your rifle does not have it now then no worries.

The Atlas bipod you want for your AICS is the no clamp

Photo 1 is the original Atlas Spigot Mount. Kasey has since added the tension screw which is excellent.

Photo 2 is the current Atlas Spigot Mount attached to a NEW AICS with the extended NV capable spigot receiver.

If your AICS doesn't have the extended mount, then don't worry about it and buy the Atlas Spigot mount.

Thanks for all the help.. I just got my aics 2.0 last week and it does have that new piece on the stock. I will take a look at those links.. Thanks everyone

Hey LoneWolf, do you know if that new AICS extended NV capable spigot receiver can be shortened/removed to look like the older AICS stocks?

I just received my AICS in the mail yesterday and it comes with that new piece also but I don't like it at all.

ive been searching on and off today i cant find nothing

im having surgeon on a build and have to contact them monday if mine will have that ugly nv block

if i find anything i will let you know

i also emailed and left a message at milehighshooting to see if they have any old ones in stock or have any of the old blocks to swap out in the case im stuck with the nv
