Building a 10 and have a question. I'm not much up on the newer keymod floating handrails.
my set up is going to have a 20" barrel with a 15" keymod.
Can you really mount the Bipod to the free floating keymod rail when its this long? It just seems like there would be a lot of give to it
out at the end since its unsupported where the bipod mounts

but what about what I had sort of mentioned about my concerns of the Bipod being mounted to the 15" long keymod handguard? seems like since its only supported at the rear of the free floating handguard, it would be a bit flimsey and give to much at the front?

I guess it'll depend on the handguard your'e using and how secure the lockup is at the barrel nut. I'm doing a 20" WOA 22Nosler predator contour and a 15" Noveske NSR rail. The NSR is extremely tight/solid fitting and I don't anticipate any issues. I wouldn't worry much unless yours doesn't have a solid connection. Worst case scenario, just move the bipod back slightly if you find you have issues.

I have two AR10's with 15" Aero keymod rails on standard Aero M5 (not enhanced) uppers: a 23" 6.5CM with a ~1" heavy profile barrel and an 18" .308 standard profile, and neither show much, if any movement on Atlas bipods. I think it will depend on how sturdy the rail is and how it locks up to the upper/barrel nut. You can always look into the Aero M5E1 (enhanced) uppers if you're really worried.

I'm running a 26" bartlein with an Aero M5E1 15" hand guard with an MLOK rail, Altas bipod, and have had no issues. I don't think I'd use it for a daily pushup challenge but it should take your day-to-day use just fine.

I'm running a 22 inch Ballistic Advantage 6.5 Creedmoor barrel (Heavy profile with 0.936 gas block) and a SLR Rifleworks 16 inch Solo Lite keymod handguard on a Harris S-BRM bipod. No issues at all.

Guys this is great info. IO guess I am just a little gun shy because I am old school and have never run a keymod until now. I have always run a piccatinny quad rail and it seems much thicker. Sounds like I just need to get used to it as the new standard. Also does anyone understand what this MLOK vs the keymod? Are they interchangeable or exclusive of each other and how do you identify which is which?

M-Loc and key-mod are not interchangeable. Pretty simple to spot the difference between the two. Key-mod handguards have little key hole looking notches and the M-Loc has 1/4 inch slots about 1 1/2 inches long

I am running a heavy 20" WOP barrel under my 15" Armalite comp keymod rail. I have used Magpul nylon or Seekins aluminum 5-slot rail section at the front and either an Atlas or Harris mounted to that. My SA gas block is about 1/8" from touching the top or bottom of the block to the ID of the rail. I have seen no accuracy indicators or marks inside the handrail to indicate excessive flex. I load the bipod enough that a Magpul nylon rail flexed quite visibly with the bipod attached, hence the aluminum version now in use.

If your gas block is near the mount point of the short 1913 rail, just make sure the mounting screws for the rail do not protrude through the lock nut or plate and press into the gas block. I've only had the issue with an MLOK set up and simply shorten the screws a tad.
