The facts
- Applied for individual suppressor tax stamp 11months ago in Arizona
- moved three months ago across town so I still live in Arizona.
- tax stamp just got approved

what issues will I have when I go to pick up my tax stamp and suppressor with my new home address?

Just went through something similar when picking up a suppressor, you'll be fine with the advice highlighted above, and assuming you still have an in-state drivers license.

I was just in same situation. Dealer advised me to not change my license until I picked up the can as address on my ID needed to match the Form 4. If addresses don’t match, not sure what happens.

I had to get real smart on this subject temporarily living in another state via active duty orders, transferring in a class III item, on an out of state trust. Learning occurred to say the least.

@JB.IC , feel you on this one though, it can be stressful.

Say you move in the middle of this process, still keeping your ID unchanged. That move(within the same state) won’t fuck with the NFA’s background check?
No consequence. Move out of State is a NO GO, especially if you move then change your drivers license. That will cause a Void, Form 3 transfer, then re-submission.

Correct, at least for me, that is what occurred, and it cleared fine. The information you provide on the form 4 allows a deeper dive.

As long as the address on your license matches the address you put on the 4473, you are good to go. Address on the form 4 is irrelevant unless it's out of state. Also no need to notify ATF of a move for silencers.

Hanshon Bros, so the address on the Form 4 is irrelevant at the time of pickup? So, if I get my DL changed and fill out the 4473 with my new address (matching my DL), I'm good to go?

My dealer gave me the wrong info if that's correct - that's why I'm asking.

It’s dealer specific so you better follow your dealers own guidelines. Mine requires the address to be the same. Right or wrong I don’t know but I play by his rules.

This is what my dealer sent to me.

Correct on the above. Maybe an easier way to look at it:

1.) NFA branch of ATF - primarily concerned about vetting and approving the info on the Form 4. If it came back as approved, good to go there. You can now accept it and possess in the eyes of the NFA-ATF (once you execute the 4473).
2.) Your Dealer - Your dealer wants to ensure you can substantiate the information provided on the 4473, not the form 4. So the address you enter on the 4473 needs to match on your in-state ID/drivers license

For example, my form 4 came back approved, for a Florida Trust, with a mailing address in Virginia. ATF was good with that.

Subsequently, the NCIS check was approved at the dealer because my drivers license matched the address I put on the 4473. At the end of the day, the 'local' NCIS check/dealer is much more concerned on ensuring you can demonstrate in-state residence to execute the 4473.

Well, this reminded me that I moved a while back (within the same State) and never sent the change of address on any of my Form 4 stuff.
Guess that needs to get done.

Why? No need to inform them if within the same state. I mean you can as a courtesy but it’s not required. Or do you mean you haven’t received your items yet and need to change mid process?

That is correct. Your dealer is misinformed.

NICS for NFA? NFA is NICS exempt.
