YEP... That's it. When it first surfaced a few years ago it was being told as a true story. I was trying to tell son-in-law #2 about it. I think the very first time I read it I cried and laughed so hard I almost wet myself.
I just emailed it to daughter #2.

....reminds me of when shortly after DS, my wife's co-workers all wanted to try MRE's to see what they were like so I gave here a case to take to work. It didn't go well....one lady actually threw up once she took a whiff after opening the main meal pouch.....two of them didn't show up for work the next day....

I want to say a Army Ranger wrote a book on how to use MRE's in every day cooking. As the base for all your meals. I'll look and see if i can find it. Pretty funny stuff.

I remember C-rations. And our instructor telling us: If you are constipated, swap peanut butter for the fruit. If you have diarrhea swap your fruit for some of the peanut butter." The MRE's are much better....but I actually sort of liked the crackers in the C-rats.
