MSA Sordin vs Safariland TC1 DEHP

I have both. The DEHP's have different electronics and a coating over the boards. They also do not have the audio input jack. To me they are more moisture resistant than the Sordins.

That said my Sordins went strong for over 10 years. They have some corrosion internally, and shut off by themselves ever now and then, but they still work fine.

The price difference is a bit steep, but for my use the DEHP is worth the upgade. If it's for more occasional use, either will be great and the cash may be better spent elsewhere.

It really depends on the in ear versus external preference. The Sordins are the best I have ever used but a couple of my buddies prefer in ear models and use Etymotic.

I like external muffs and the Sordins are the best I have ever used

Just like opeagle said, they are good. My Sordins went over 10 years be for stopping. That was in all kinds of weather, rain and snow. On my second pair. Get the gel earseals. They are worth the the extra money.

I like the muff option because its gives me the ability to scale up or down by with foamies underneath and not impact the effectiveness of the electronics.

Sounds great. Thank you so much to you and everyone for your advice and suggestions.

Muffs are my choice. The ability to run plugs under the muffs is nice. Especially when firing an unsuppressed 300 WM in an enclosed space or next to a wall. That'll make you a believer. I've used Peltor ComTac III's with gel cups for years. 100% reliable and very comfortable.

I have used both and the TCI's give me a more true sound. I used the MSA muffs for many years and they worked well, I feel the TCIs are a worthwhile upgrade. Everything about them is top notch.

I haven't used the Sordins, but I have a set of TCIs that I love. Very comfortable and I always get a good seal around my ears which helps when shooting short barrel rifles on a smaller indoor range.

Edit to add that I have worn them out in the rain for hours with no adverse effect
