With all the money .gov waste its not the worst they could be spending it on. Im against it because i think it encourages people to waste 4 years + in school with no real goals or directions. If you dont have a career in mind before you graduate high school you probably shouldn't go to college especially expecting someone else to pick up the tab. Also the majority of my friends are college graduates and not many do better then me wiyh my 8th grade education. Driven people will be successful regardless of the obstacles and lazy, whiney, complacent people won't be regardless of the opportunity.

This was a kid that I watched grow up, in which mom/dad gave her everything she wanted. I always spoke out about it, to no avail. A monster was created. I believe this is what has happened to the last couple of generations. We always want our kids to have more than we had. But, maybe, we went too far. We have failed our kids, even though, I didn't give mine everything they wanted, being X Gens and all. and they have failed theirs. Progression is a bitch and I guess, we ARE paying for it now.

Yeah, I get it. Just like me, I receive 2 Fed retirements and 1 state. I played to pay. Some would say, that I don't deserve my Fed. retirement, or my state, for that matter. But, while I worked shitty hours, in shitty places, for shitty wages, I still had to pay .gov for the privilege. For 48 years, .gov stole from me (F they're still stealing from me, and I'm almost 65), or maybe, they promised me something in return for my effort. The problem was, .gov didn't invest my money, and many, many others money, they squandered it. I think Wade2Big had it right on this one, it was all a Ponzi Scheme.

College expenses skyrocketed after government started underwriting loans. Colleges offer useless degrees for people who think a degree will be a balm for their self esteem issues.

As far as farmers, if you think the government supports them too much then go borrow about 10 million dollars and become a government paid farmer. I’m guessing you won’t care for the work involved either.
Just so you know inflation will continue, and the Fed will keep raising interest rates which will result in a full blown 80’s style recession. If you think times are tough now, wait about 12 months.
