Hunting & Fishing Mulies and elk at the same time?

Me and buddy are looking to go west and try for a freelance hunt for elk, after talking for a bit he brought up hunting mulies while we're there to maximize our chance for a successful hunt. I'm not sure if any of the states season overlap or run during the same time? If you live or hunt/have hunted somewhere like that I would be grateful for your input.

I think that Montana's seasons overlap depending upon the unit you're hunting.

I always see deer when I am hunting Elk - so we did this this year - got a Mulie, but no Elk... We hunted 3rd rifle in CO. Will go again in late season since my son has the Elk license (youth get a second change in late season here).

I just got back from a elk/mule deer combo rifle hunt in MT. The weather was not favorable for hunting. We had 9 guys on the trip and we took 1 whitetail, 5 muleys and 1 elk.
