Multi Purpose EDC Binoculars

I am in search of a multi purpose compact set of binoculars. These will be used for hiking, sporting events, hunting, boating and anything else where you may want to have a set of binoculars. I am looking for the EDC of binoculars. My current choices are:

Leupold BX-4 Pro Guide 10x32mm 42mm
Steiner Tactical 10x28mm 42mm
Sig Zulu 3 8x32mm

Thoughts on either on these or suggestions for other similar models. Looking to keep the price in the $500 range or below.

Edit: By compact, I mean that the length will fit in a cargo pocket. After more thought and reading the replies, I agree that the smaller objective is really what I am looking for. Also added the Sig Zulu 3 to the list.

A compact binocular would be an 8x20/25 or 10x20/25. A 10x42 is a full size unit.
In a 10x42 there are many great options under $500.00 from Meopta, leupold, GPO , Sig.

If you are wanting 10×42 (not compact) I have been using the Meopta Meopro over the last year and they are terrific.

If you are wanting compact (10x20/25) I have a pair of Steiners that are very good and hit way above the price point. However at your stated $500, there is better to be had although only marginally. Lower returns on investment and all that.

If you want EDC, I assume you want compact?

I purchased a new pair of M24 7x28 binoculars. They were made by L3 and Northrop Grumman. Laser filter coated glass, ranging reticle, rubber armored, quality glass, and can be found on eBay from cheap to under your price limit.

Recommend going to EBay and just findinf a 250 retail binocular for 50 bucks. Used binoculars do not sell well and most are like new.

<$500, excellent glass, compact size = Leica Trinova 10x25

I carried a set of these for 15 months in Afghanistan and couldn't have been happier with them. Excellent clarity for their size.
