Re: muscle pharm assault

At least for me,the reason I utilize pre-workout supplements is because I work out at 5:30 in the morning due to my work schedule.

I am absolutely not a morning person so the "mix" provides a boost of energy to get me going and motivate me out of my sleepy lethargic state. Also, for me, i don't have negative effects throughout the day or any "crashing"

Re: muscle pharm assault

It's not so much an "energy drink" like Red Bull. Those are typically bad.

Things like Assault or Jack3D are a pre-workout mix, that lets you train harder and longer.
From experience, I know that when I circuit train or even just alternate 2-3 lifts...I get tired faster and my workout suffers.

A pre-workout supliment, like those listed, will let you work through those times of typical exhaustion, to a point where you're going hard, long after you would typically burn out.

I'll admit, I pound 5h Energy like they're gonna quit making it. I sometimes have to pull 2-3 all nighters a week for work and school and that's an easy way to finish shit I've gotta get done. Sometimes I'll pick up a Red Bull if I'm on a long road trip.
Neither of these two products come close to what a pre-workout kicker will do.

People say caffine or honey will do the same thing. I'm an Apiarist and I know that's just not true. Honey is close, an nice gentile boost, and it's WAY more healthy, but it's simply not the same as a mix.

I also don't crash from a pre-workout mix...It does however give me the ability to shit through a screen door without hitting any wires...but that my only negative side effect, but I can live with it. Just have to remember go before lifting on leg day and to re-hydrate.

when i'm done with my workout in the A.M. its just the beginning, i do work, post holes, bails, climbing trees, dragin dead animals up canyons, walkin miles from sun up to sun set trying to get more HD footage...etc, etc... you would actually be surprised @ how much energy you get from working out "hard", its quite easy to make it through a 16hr day after the breakfast of steel.

Re: muscle pharm assault

I can't speak for what any of the other guys do, but here is my experience. If you push yourself really hard for a couple hours, without feeding your body something to keep you going, you will basically be slowed down to your body's anabolic rate. You will have no energy to keep pushing, and your workout will suffer. I generally take in a lot of complex carbs to help with this, as the body can "store" that energy, and use it to get you through a workout. I can tell on days I "cheated" on my diet, because half way though the workout I'm smoked, and want to stop. I'm assuming this is what the pre-workout mix is for, but I have to admit I know very little about them, as I don't use any.

Or are they simply giving you some kind of physical recoup (trying to think of better word) for the day?

I don't doubt your productivity guys...

I guess what I'm wondering, is do you use them cuz you WANT TO or NEED TO or just because you can. And if anyone says NEED TO...then really is that being fit? I suppose it has it has to do with one's goals (become a world class bodybuilder, fastest guy on campus, amateur pornstar) and what limitations you yourself has to deal with.

I'm not saying if you use this stuff that your not trying or anything to that nature. I try to stay active, bust my ass at work and come home after a 10-12hr shift smoked. I have never drank or smoked and although I'm by no means "the big guy" I'm quite comfortable knowing despite injuries I'm more fit than some of my 30yr old peers.

I find these sort of things interesting I guess...no disrespect intended.

And for the love of god Skinney, the next you see me, please don't use me for a shake weight. HAHA.

i don't look @ it as necessity, but more fun than anything, since i don't drink,(never have), i tend to get my highs @ 4 a.m. with a little mixture of caffeine and gun powder...
