Check out "Tomorrow, When the War Began"

More than just being a great movie it also VERY accurately showcases Australian lingo and behaviours.

Probably the best showcase of that great Australian vibe, coupled with a script I am sure everyone on the Hide will appreciate.

Aussie version of Red Dawn?

Re: Must See, Movie.

Unless Matthew Quigley makes a cameo, I'll just wait till it makes it to my local RedBox. That looks to be a long ways off.
(it does look like a nice Red Dawn remake though, I'm game)

What bothered me more is the ending, it finished off like the first episode of a series, very poor scripting there but still a great movie to watch.

Re: Must See, Movie.

This movie had the shittest acting i have ever seen

Yea, it was pretty aussie with the language and everything...

I especially like the part where it is mentioned that movies are never as good as their counterpart books. That applies to Marsdens book with the same title.

Its almost as if the director thought "mmmm this is turning out shitter than i expected, lets throw in a one liner to cut the tension".

No kidding, the events in the ending were what I thought the entire movie was supposed to be about. A bunch of renegades that were wasting the Chinese Invaders. They started throwing in quite a few one liners in the last 3rd of the movie. I found myself flipping between snipershide and the movie during that time.

Re: Must See, Movie.

As a HUGE fan of Marsden's books I was just a little bit disappointed with the movie. Especially with the massive departure from the books story line at the end of the movie. The DVD release has an alternate ending which conforms to the better story line IMHO.

Where did they get all that weaponry and gear? Who really believes those six or seven kids are going to last very long in a firefight with the enemy? Ahh well, bring on the second and third movies so we can find out.........
