Gunsmithing Muzzle brake advice

Hi all,

I am looking to make myself a muzzle brake for my 300wsm and was just after some advice.

I'm looking at having 2 slots either side and wanted to know the ideal tolerance for the baffles... How much clearance for the projectile?

Also... I'm wanting to vent the gases sideways and rearwards. Is there an optimal angle for the slots to be cut for this?

I think just call the local gunsmith will be better for accuracy work.
