So I am having a 224Valkyrie barrel spun up. Basically is is a 22" 1:7 Krieger with a +2 gas system and an SLR adjustable gas block. I was thinking about putting a brake on the end of it and I am looking for suggestions. I have considered a Cherry Bomb from the Q, as well as an Area 419 brake. With such a light recoiling round is this even a good idea??

What is the use? The cherry bomb vents radially, and may kick up debris when shooting from prone. May not be an issue on the 223 V, but something to think about. But, then again, it is also the QD attachment for the trash panda and thunder chicken. If you are contemplating a Q suppressor, the CB would be a good option.

The Cherry Bomb isn't even a brake. It's got about zero square inches of baffle surface perpendicular to the bore. If the vents were only on one side it could be timed to marginally function as a compensator but thats not the case.

I am considering a Q suppressor. It would be shot from the prone as well as barricades. Possibly it would work its way to a competition or two. More for fun than anything.
