I currently have a 5/8 x 24 thread on a bolt gun and have a Smith enterpise Vortex on the rifle. The barrel was turned down to the Vortex diameter. The Vortex is not timed and just threads tight to the shoulder of the barrel.
Now here is my question, Is there a .308 caliber muzzle break that I can put on the rifle without having to send it in to a smith for re-threading? Something with a crush washer like an AR 15? I was going to buy a Badger FTE but that looks like it would need some barrel work before screwing it to my barrel.
The reason for not wanting to do all the work is I want to test the 26" barrel with a brake and check the accuracy. If not I want to cut the barrel to 22" and reprofile to make an FTE brake work.
