It really matters on the tube that is put into the housing. There rated up to 50 cal bmg. However, a tube with a halo above 1 should be installed if your going to be using it in anything over 6.8 spc. I had a Pinnacle tube develope recoil damage from a fulton .308. The tube had a halo of .88. Itt now has weapons rated tubes for higher caliber weapons. While all L3 tubes are weapons rated. Saying that there is always a risk of developing recoil damage no matter what tube is in it. Just less chance with tubes with higher halo's.
