Ok Guy's,

Since I am on a gun high with the 18" REPR coming in today, I might as well show everyone my beloved 1911.

It started life as a Stainless Milspec, I think. Got completely gutted, and then massaged into the fine blaster it was always ment to be. Thanks to everyone from the Louderthanwords.net crew. Enjoy, JPG

Thanks, They are original Simonich grips. They were sharp as hell, had to sand them with 400Grit wet/dry before I could shoot her.

I know there are some purists out there that can't stand front cocking serations, but I had the smiths have at it. And this is what I got, love it everytime I shoot it!

It has a ton of custom machining, slide stop pin shaved, chamfered slide, flat topped and serrated, all beveled, Barsto barrel with polished crown, the best machine checkering, all hand fitted internals, and internally polished out.
I wanted a custom one off 1911, and not have a factory one like that anyone could order. Everyone deserves one right?
This gun shoots! It hits everything I aim at when I do my job. I have even hit a steel torso target at 200 yards with it holding it off sandbags!
I have had TRP's and I think that they are awesome for the money, just wanted something built for me.

thats cool man, like i said it looks great, i just thought it was a TRP. i just happened to have held one the day before i saw yours. i was looking at them online to see if the price my buddy was asking, $1300, was a fair price. it felt great to me but so far my most expensive 1911 is a used TLE/RL that i snagged for $700. i was just curious. thats a great picture by the way. serious, that i know about. thats magazine quality, centerfold gun porn right there

That is what is so cool about the 1911. You can make it yours, just like a Harley! There are alot of good 1911 brands, but the ones I like the best are the Springfields, and Colts, pre series 80, of course. You can get a base gun, then get the sights you want, then get a reliability package, and a trigger job, and the rest is just cosmetics. Good luck, JPG

Very nice! I always use the Harley angle with 1911's too. Plus many customs start with what folks have on hand. That's a solid functional build that is pretty to boot!

Only thing that I'd do differently would be the sights.

Nice. I had everything set up for a ground up build with a Caspian frame. Then the ole financial axe fell and I had to back burner it for awhile. Thanks for the picture.

Great looking pistol. I've got a Loaded Springfield that looks similar but with the wider slide serations that come on that model. I like mine especially after having a little extra work done on it. But I really like the look of those grips on yours. I've been planning on getting a different set of grips for a while and I think I'll get similar set for mine. Are they the flat bottom ones so that they line up with the mag chute?

Chuck Rogers did the machine and Mike Ohara did all the hand fitting, and finish work. I had my hand in everything, and was a ton of fun.
I think it is so funny when someone has to voice their opinion on front cocking serrations. I wanted them, so I got them, they look cool..
If you don't want them on your gun, great, hats off to you.

Thats a horrible comparison!!! Even the worst 1911 is far more reliable than a drippy old Harley

I'll have to take some pictures of it because i dont think I have any. And I'll have to take to look at the posts on how to post pictures too because I have no clue how to do it right now. Hopefully I'll be able to get something up this week end?

Oh and dispite what so many of the 1911 purists say, I like the front serations. If they provide any function or not I like the way they look.

The track that I am on in the picture is Pacific Raceway in Auburn, Wa. I have plans to go to Portland , and then Spokane this season. Just depends on the cash flow and work. Is that a CBR 600 or 1000?

That one is an 06 1KRR, Im almost done with the 3rd rebuild on it. Pretty much a wsbk spec bike now, and with the engine build and electronics i should be atleast 205whp or more.

Here is a shot of it, finished the hand built an exhaust for it and added some things since this pic but its an idea.

That is sweet! Nice brakes, Ohlins, and everything! I have heard of EDR, visited them in there old location. They were cool.
I had Dave at Speeddealer Motors build my motor, like it needed any more. I equate it to a 338Lapua! Mine has a shaved head/thin head gasket, full port and polish, Web cams, full akro race system, Power Commander, Ohlins Road and Track forks, and makes 190RWHP on ProV1. 180RWHP on super, which I can afford! It is at SDM right now getting Brembo mono block calipers, and Brembo Radial Master cylinder. Trying to get a hold of a Ohlins TTX, but they didn't make one for an 05 GSXR.

When was the last time you went to Laguna?

nice build!! If you ever want trick or exotic parts for your bike hit me up, ive come across a few bad ass deals lately on Showa SBK forks with magnesium triples and basically the whole front end off an 05 AMA SBK for about $3k

Silverbullet-2: as you requested here are a few pics of mine. It's a 2001 model Springfield 1911A1 Loaded. I had sent it back to the Springfield Custom Shop and they did a trigger job on it bringing it to 4.5#, a carry bevel, checkered the frontstrap at 30LPI and fitted a Nowlin Match Barrel to it. The gun was nice before but when I got it back again it was just tight and smooth and the checkering felt great too. I was really happy with the quality of the work they did.

The other is a Springfield 1911 Champion that started as a Mil-Spec but after getting bit by the hammer and losing the pinned front sight I had a local guy add a bevertail and Commander hammer and then Dovtail in a Novak front sight I had. I like it a lot better now than before. It seems to have a really nice balance and shoots good.

The fullsize Loaded is still my go to gun with the option of a Sig, HK, Beretta, and a Glock. I would like to add a set of the grips like you have and a mag chute yet to it and I'm considering having the stainless refinished in a black but I'm not sure yet on that.

I like them both! The Springfield Custon Shop is a great place to have "stuff" done. They are quick, reasonable, and know what they are doing. I have heard from many not to overlook them. Would like to do a little brother to my 5" someday! Thanks for sharing, JPG
