My 7x57 longrange load with 180 SMK

Hi everybody,

want to share my 7x57 Mauser longrange load.
Rifle: largering Mauser 1909
Barrel: 27 inch, brand Heym
Twist: 8,6

Load:
180 SMK
Powder: 51 gr. N560
Brass: Norma, one time neck sized
Primer: CCI BR
COAL: 3.169 (long throat)
Speed: 2644 fps

Works fine up to 1258 yards
Easy bolt lift.
THIS WORKS IN MY RIFLE!

Thanks for the post. My long range diet for my 7x57 is 46 gr. of VV N160 behind a 168 gr. bullet (Berger or SMK). Unfortunately, I can't go heavier because it's only a 1-10" twist.

Edit:

Sorry, built on a VZ 24 with a Lilja Barrel. I might be off on the twist as it sure stabilizes the 168 VLD's.

you get more speed with N560 if the barrel is long enough.

True, but it's 24". Probably long enough. I'm thinking I should start working up RE-19 and RE-22 loads and see what they give me. About like trying VV N570.
