My Awesome experience with Accurate Ordnance

Like a lot of people I've been watching the for sale threads and thinking about picking up an on sale Sako trg or AI AE on close out. But I've been wanting a custom rig for a long time also. Money matters in my house. After some research i found that I could get a barreled action in 6.5 creedmoor in a week for less than 1700. Stiller tac 30 action, rock creek barrel, pinned lug and 20 moa base. Length of my choice.. Damn, I'm about to spend money. So I begged wife to clear a build budget.......and she gave me the OK. God bless her.

A couple weeks ago I got the funds lined up. So I bit the bullet and emailed Mark at 530pm expecting maybe tomorrow I would hear something. Lo and Behold at 8 that night I got a response and he emailed back and forth with me about options and availibility. Then we had the SNOWSTORM of 2014 and I actually pulled the trigger. Emailed Mark again, on a day the entire city was shut down, and got a response right away. Woody would contact me as soon as they could make it to the shop. Sure enough Woody called Thursday morning and sent me a work order for a barreled action. 1 week later to the day I was called by the shop and drove up to pick up my new sexy beast. Spent an hour or so in the shop bullshitting, and they let me bring up my stock and put all the stuff together right there. Everyone was very nice, and helped out in any way. I had a great time and can't thank them enough. I have never had a shop invite me in and be so hospitable. Amazing really to let in some old fat guy and laugh at his stupid jokes

In short, if your in the market for a great custom shop with outstanding customer service dont forget to look these guys up. You wont regret it. Thanks again to all the guys at AO and keep up the good work. Glad we got someone with there shit straight here in GA.

I completely agree. I just placed an order with them a few weeks ago for a custom rifle in 6.5 creedmoor. I was having a hard time deciding between GAP and AO for this build. I called and talked with woody about what I wanted. A few minutes of getting off the phone I had an email with an estimate attached. I then changed my mind about a few details and I emailed woody late that night. First thing in the morning I had an updated estimate reflecting my changes. They truly do make you feel like they have time to spend with you and I never felt rushed on phone conversations with them...even though I'm sure they are real busy. So far so good. Although the wait is proving to be hard and it's only been a few weeks...I'm super pumped and can't wait to see it let alone shoot it.

I lost my alternator in Alabama, and stopped by AO on my way home. Mark found out about it and wouldn't let me continue until it was fixed- gave me shop space out of the rain, let me use their tools, and tried to pull Jason off the lathe to do the installation. Great group of guys.

+1. Adding to what great work they do and what a great group of guys they are, I sincerely appreciate the answers when I ask the why or how of something. They take the time to answer questions and if I don't get it they just back up and come at it from another angle. That they take the time to do this tells me of their dedication to their customers and that their work is a labor of love.

Its a Stiller Tac30 A/W 6.5 Creedmoor in an XLR Tactical Evolution chassis. 24" Bartlein 1:8 varmint contour bbl with a NF ATACR 5-25x56. She's weighing in right at 14 lbs. I'll double check the weight a little later.

yup. Just finished my reduced load workup with 107gn smk's. They are sweet spotting with .3's @35gn varget. They bad groups were in the .8's. Now i have to start my LR load workup. Prolly gonna be berger 130's and rl17 due to availibility of powder. Especailly with a 22 incher im gonna have to push that sucker fast to get it up to snuff. I spent the first couple hundred rounds just shooting the 140 amax boxed ammo for brass. They were all showing pressure signs and shot bad for me. Of course, after shooting those 200 i replaced my rings. the cheaper ones i was using gave way under recoil and were slipping lol. I threw on some NF ultralights and the world is good again. So maybe the 140 amax wasnt asa bad as i thought. Bu still had pressure signs. I will probably give them another shot. It would be way convenient to just have 10 boxes in the closet for when we got shoot LR then have to stock aother powder and bullet.

its the only thing ive shot since i got it. I actually pulled some other rifes out of the closet over the weekend while cleaning and all i could think of was what junk... And that includes nice remmies and tikkas. All were great rifles, before i got used to this one... All my factory rifles just feel cheap now... damn this is going to be an expensive twist of fate.
