Well, after 6 months of waiting, it finally came! I was almost getting to the point of canceling it, or selling it when it finally showed up because its pretty much summer time here now, but after seeing it in person... WOW! I have 100 rounds of factory Norma ammo to break it in with and get used to it before I switch over to the Hornady ELD Match 208 and 225 pills with Retumbo. I should have some 1100 yard stuff up pretty quick, not sure I will get out to a mile before the heat kicks in because at my spot, you have to walk it out and its already warm. Nightforce 7-35 ATACR should make sure I can see whatever I am shooting at, although likely I won't ever use it past 15x. My sales guy at Barrett incorrectly informed me the barrel is threaded 5/8x24, so I have to ditch my Surefire muzzle brake and go find one in the correct thread for my RC now. Anyone know what thread this actually is? Edit - Apparently its 3/4x24... now to find one.

Now to see who has some good load data and specifics on these rounds!

Op nice looking rifle let us know how she shoots!

Thanks! I may not shoot it... I kinda lost interest in it a few months ago after having to wait so long, was excited again yesterday when it came in, but now between the weather and my work schedule, I may just sell it and get anther semi auto 308 or something easier to play with that doesn't require so much prep for long range and such.

I'm jealous of the fact that you guys have access to factory 300NM ammo. We ask for that shit here and get told "we've had that on backorder for as long as its been available."

I bought it early. Barrett quoted 30 days on the rifle back in November, which is really before anyone jumped on the 300 Norma bandwagon so I was buying ammo, brass and components any time I saw it. Brownells had a bunch of Norma ammo at the time which is where I got most of it, and looks like a few companies are starting to manufacture it now.

That would be a travesty!

Go shoot it, we need a range report! You spent the money, might as well get some satisfaction out of it. Curious as to your impressions and the 7-35NF.

Second this comment. What reticle did you get? (Tossing up between an ATACR 5-25x, a 7-35x and an S&B for the next gun)

Mil R. Im a bit of a nightforce geek so I sold my 5-25 ATACR for the 7-35 mainly because of the better parallax setup. I doubt id ever be able to use much past 20x here in AZ with the mirage and heat off the suppressor, usually I hover in the 15x area for 1100, but this is the first gun purchased for 1 mile +, and ive never shot that far. The 5-25 is absolutely amazing and I will likely get another one in the near future.

Yeah nice mate. I have a 5-25 PMII for my incoming 300NM, and am going to get a second lightweight norma built. I was thinking of putting either of those two on it or a PMII 5-20x with a P4L fine (same as my current scope). I am leaning toward the 5-25x because I don't think the 7-35x is offered with the MIL-C reticle yet.

Quick range report....yes it shoots straight.
this pic is a 3 shot group @ 100 yds during break in, about 15 rounds total. There are 3 more targets just like it. Shoots well, recoil is low compared to my 338 MRAD, and I love the scope. Could not be happier! Thanks Mike!
