I have a sav. 10 in 6.5 cm. I want a shilen or bartlein barrel, not sure on contour. Input welcome. Manners T5A or gat stock. Im gona keep factory bottom metal and and use ratmags. I have read that a 110ba bolt handle will work correct me if im wrong. I am not sure if i want a muzzle break or not. Cerakote all metal coyote tan, and thinking desert storm camo on stock. I will be using this gun for target and hunting. I have been shooting since a kid but just now getting in the precision part of it, so i would appreciate all input from other members. Thanks

Re: my build plans!

Both of the barrels you mentioned have good reputations, for a savage drop in you might also look into a Criterion barrel, I have heard nothing but good things from them.

I know very little about the 6.5 CM but I don't think you'll need a muzzle break, as far as I know the recoil is fairly minimal as it is. Please someone with more knowledge correct me if I am wrong?

Anyhow hope this helps and its nice to see another Savage guy from Arkansas

A little pot hole of a town in between Mena and DeQueen called Grannis...the only thing I hate about living around here is it is hard to find a spot to shoot over 600yds.

Re: my build plans!

I shoot a 6.5 CM with a Little Bastard muzzle brake. Granted the round does not have a lot of recoil, how ever utilizing the brake helps with follow through. Being able to see the splash of your bullet, helps if you need to correct from a missed shot.

Re: my build plans!

The recoil dont bother me i got a 300wm i deer hunt with so im used to some kick. I just thought the brake might help with the really long shots, i have never had experience with a brake. So far i have no problems shooting groups at 500, i haven't had a chance to go out any farther. I just figured anything could help me at those ranges.
