My D.I.Y Tactical Bolt Knob install with PICS!

so this was my take of making a threaded bolt knob. turned out pretty good i think for my first try the next one will be alot faster considering i already have the jig made. im hoping to inlet my stock once it gets here for DBM hopefully it turns out as good. let me know what you guys think.

Making the Jig

jig is all milled out

time to fit the bolt

bolt clamped in the jig. had to drill and tap some holes to hold the bolt handle steady and mill out a slot in the bottom to hold the jig in the turn table

improvising a way to spin the turn table lol less effort then doing it by hand

milling the old knob off

Thanks. I actually had more photos but I reached my upload limit. I have a few short videos to but I'm not sure if those can be uploaded. If anyone in the Tacoma Washington area wants there's done I'm sure we could work something out. My jig is for a short action rem700 tho.

Nice work, if you desires to move forward a bit more, try to blend the edges od the corners of the handle to the knob, that will make for a smother transition.

However and just to make one thing clear, that job of yours is light years beyond what I can do, I can only look in awe. /Chris

I did think about blending it but I don't want to get it 're finished at this point in time. When I have my bolt fluted I'll probably blend the knob and have it all cerakoted.

You should be able to achieve the same thing with an outside boring bit if you have one. I didn't have one so we improvised and used the turn table.

Awesome job! Now lets hope your bolt handle doesn't break. Them Remington bolts are notorious for snapping.
