My first 308 build

Hello All,

Here is my first 308 build, let me know what you guys think. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. Anyone out there in the SoCal area care to help me out properly zero in the rifle? I'm noob and could use any help. I bought a lead sled plus but I've never used it either. Specs for the rifle are as follows:

Mega Maten Upper and Lower Receiver
JP Rifles 22" SS Barrel and matched bolt 1/10 twist
Superior Weapons Systems E1 15" free float handguard
Young Manufacturing Chrome Bolt Carrier
BattleComp BA tactical compensator
Troy .936 low-pro gas block
Geisselle SSA-E Trigger
VLTOR-BCM Gunfighter charge handle
Magpull PRS Stock
Atlas Bipod with ADM lever mount
ADM Recon-S Scope mount
Vortex 6.5-20x50mm PA scope
Ergo Grip
Slash's Heavy Buffers XH buffer

Don't mount Bipods to Barrels. It inhibits accuracy. This is something that's been known for a lot of years. Worst thing to do with a 14 type is mount the E2 Bipod.

But if your looking for CA shooters to help you get the rifle zeroed and what not check out Calguns.net. Theres 10's of thousands of CA shooters on the site and at least one of them knows what they are doing LOL.

I wanted to build a Maten but every one was out of stock and I got impatient and went a different route. Yours looks great.

Uh, what? Did you miss the part where he said the hand guard is free floating? That would mean the bipod is attached to the hand guard. Furthermore, I doubt you'll find ANYONE on this forum who mounts the bipod to the barrel.

Clearly the barrel is that big tube bro, that small skinny part coming out is the bullet.

I know what you mean. I wanted a slick side upper- either a DPMS or a SunDevil and since I hate to wait, ended up with just a standard DPMS upper and lower. Gun still turned out nice and shoots great though- 6.5 Creeedmoor.
