Re: My first bolt/long range rifle
I'm not sure about the PST yet. I like the reticle and the illumination and other features are nice. The eye relief is fine but the sight picture can be picky. The glass, when zoomed way in, is mediocre IMO for a scope at this price point, but as long as it tracks correctly I'll be happy.
The weaver 3-10 on the other hand I am really impressed with. This is a nice little scope for 300 bucks. The glass is as good as the PST, and its not as sensitive about sight picture. If it tracks right it will be the best scope I've ever bought value-wise.
The timney I'm happy with, no pre travel or over travel, very crisp and clean break. I like the fact that it is wider than factory. I set it around 2 lbs.
The HS stock is nice. Seems to be built solid out of kevlar and graphite and fully free floats all the way to the receiver. Supposedly I wont need to bed with it. Adds some weight to the rifle but not too bad. I may be kicking myself later and wishing I had spent more on a McMillan or AICS, though.
