Hey All

First time poster on the hide though I've creeped on it for quite sometime now. First, let me say thank you for the vast amount of good information on this site. I was having urge to build an AR and was blown away at how much information was available.
Second, Once I decided i wanted to build an 3/4 MOA or better AR I knew I wanted a AR that could push heavier bullets for light game and fight drift better at longer distances. I also wanted this rifle stay right under 11 pounds including scope and bipod.

Well here she is

Sorry For the Bad Pics: there was not enough light and I couldn't find my flash.

Heres The List:
-Noveske Forged Upper/Lower Set
-Noveske 18" lightweight 5.56mm Stainless barrel
-Noveske BCG
-Standard A2 Butt-stock config. with Enidine Buffer
-RRA Lower Parts kit
-Timney 3lb. Skeletonized trigger
-YHM Smooth Forearm rifle length
-Miculek Compensator
-Nightforce NXS 3.5x15x56 ( Old School like 93)
-YHM QDFront and Rear Site

The rifle weighs in 11 pounds including scope/ bipod and full mag. Which I am happy with. Hopefully Ill be able to get a NXS 2.5x10x32 with ultralight rings which would put the rifle under 10 pounds which would be awesome!!

This was my first complete build. EnJoy!

PS Feel Free to tell me what i should have done

Re: My First Post/Build

I see nothing wrong with your build, other than the grip. I'm not a fan of the A2 grip, so I always switch mine out. I like the rubberized Ergo's, but the Tango Down and MagPul MIADs are nice.

But if you like 'em, more power to you! Welcome to the 'Hide, by the way.

Re: My First Post/Build

Not bad the only thing you might want to think about adding is the magpul PRS stock just to make it a lil more custom fir to you.

Re: My First Post/Build

Looks like a nice solid rifle you have.

How is that eye relief working out for you and what mount is that? The scope looks like it is pretty far back, and I'm about positive I couldn't shoot it with my medium-long neck and not get scope bite. Just curious.

Otherwise, welcome!

Re: My First Post/Build

Got a chance to take the rifle to the range this morning and was content with how it shot. The bullet was a 68gr Nosler Custom Competition HPBT seated to 2.250" with Varget powder. All groups were shot from prone with bags supporting rear. The rifle seemed to like the hotter loads better and groups tighten significantly as powder increase. The best group was with 24.80 gr of Varget(Bottom Left on Picture: bag slipped on bullet 5 so shot a 6th bullet).

I will note that the lightweight barrel heats up quickly and will string bullets. (Bottom Left Target).
