You could say that... LOL

This all started a couple months ago when Mike suggested we do a tri, I told him he was crazy. I work with a guy who does Ironman and I've always just thought that he was mad at himself...

I don't know how we ended up here now, but they are fun.

Re: My first triathlon is in the books...

I run Tri's also.. I did my first Half Iron-Man last summer (this year deployed, so far no Tri's)
I love the sprints and even the Olympics are fun.

Not sure if this will apply to you, But I am a bigger guy (6 foot, 230) so I had some serious issues Cramping in my legs on my first Olympic. I found the salt pills , think it was salt stick. It worked awesome for my next Olympic and the almost made it through the half without cramping... but that damn 13.1 run killed me.. I think around mile hmm 5-6 ish...."Leg cramps" made it a very long run!!
Congrats on finishing your First Tri.. They are alot of fun!!
Good luck on the olympic distance!!

Re: My first triathlon is in the books...

Give adventure racing a try ... its more "fun" and you don't feel like you just grinding mile after mile. My sister is a psycho and does full Irons for "fun" ... Did a half once ... that was NOT fun ...

Adventure racing is, at least I thought it was. Mountain Biking, Running, Kayaking, Land Nav, etc. Its good stuff

Re: My first triathlon is in the books...

Great job- tri's are serious training. Frankly I don't know where people get the time to train for 3 major events like that.

I'm with Sapper, but I stick to the shorter versions(5k zone) but want to build up to a Mudder and Super Spartin. Mine are mostly military obstacle course type (running hills, walls, mud, climbing, etc.) It doesn't get old and each race is significantly different so I don't feel like I can compare them to each other. Good luck.
