Needed something to keep my hands busy and mind off of things for this extended weekend so bedded my rifle. I had been debating on if it was something that really needed to be done or if I even wanted to tackle it myself and just did it. Not many pics cause it just wasn't a priority and the ones I did take suck. But anyways, wanted to share.

Was hoping to get a range report today but it just wasn't in the cards. Gonna try to go tomorrow am.

Great pictures, I had a few questions, when you use studs, how do you clamp the gun to the stock?
Would you take the trigger out the next time you do it?

Is it just the picture or has it squeezed out all the epoxy from under the front screw area.

I didn't clamp it to the stock. I wrapped the barrel in one spot with electrical tape to space it off the stock and then just let the action rest in the bedding under its own weight. The tape spacer on the barrel kept it where I wanted. I read several places that you didn't want to clamp it cause you wanted to insure no stress on the action.

And I did remove the trigger.

The aluminum block in the B&C stock was a pretty close profile match to the action already so it did squeeze out almost all the epoxy from the front area. It left a little towards the edges and just made the contact area a lot greater than just that aluminum block.

Went to the range today for a quick check, more so just to verify my zero than anything. Didn't have much time so didn't make it to the 300 yard range but at the 100 it put 3 out of 3 rounds dead on at just over half inch apart. Needless to say, preliminary reports are good.

Normally when I pull the action from the stock and then reinstall it takes 3 or 4 shots to get it settled back in to zero. It seemed to always put the first shot about 8" low at 100 but this time there was no cold bore deviation or anything. I can't wait to get back out to the range and really test it out.

One question. How many wraps of electric tape did you put on the temporary studs? What is a good clearence?

I only did 2 or 3 wraps. My intention wasn't to make clearance, it was to make sure the epoxy didn't get into the threads of the studs and make them hard to remove. I figured that any epoxy that got into the pillars that was in my way would be easy enough to just drill out so I didn't worry about spacing with tape.
