this pic speaks a million words about how my generation is ruining it for the whole world. now i am proudly serving in the Marine Corps, but its pretty sad when less than 1% of our nations population is in the armed forces. after a great night at another birthday ball to celebrate my beloved Corps 236th birthday, i came to realize that i may just go ahead and re-enlist. the Marines i celebrated with last night are some of the only men around my age that i even respect anymore. i myself am all for our freedoms as Americans, but these idiots out protesting like they are and all the others that want something for nothing are sending this country to hell in a handbag. but dont worry America, because there are still a few men like myself that will keep volunteering for combat deployments and taking anything they can get to keep this country free. if it wasnt for the men on the left side of this picture all the idiots on the right side would'nt even have the right to think about wanting more. Semper Fi to my brothers in arms past and present and to all others in the armed forces for keeping us free.

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

They are not the 99%. They are the omnipresent mass of parasites that may be on the order of 25% of us.

Their noise to productivity ratio is through the roof:
Noise/Work= ~Infinity

Yet they are held up as "Our future", "Making a difference" or "Giving Back"...

Thank you for your service but don't give up on the rest of us just yet. Asshole-congregations often delude themselves into believing their own horse shit to the extent they suffocate themselves.

Here's to yet another asphyxiation!

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

As I was setting in the garage today sharpening an AXE with a file my mind wandered back to a time when I was 8 or 10 years old and learning this task from my Dad, then my mind wandered to these ass holes in the Pickett line and I ask myself "I wonder if anyone ever taught these kids anything that was useful in life"? Just how do they get to the point of zero self worth and need intake from others?

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

Thank you and God bless you for your service to our country. PG

You cannot divide by zero.

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

Jon Lester, I thought I was the last guy in the country who sharpened an ax with a file. It's good to meet the other guy who does.

Yasherka, mathematically it is possible to divide by zero. Any number divided by zero is exactly zero. But I get your point.

To sixpack -- you'll find that more and more as you go through life that the 10%ers are either the ones you want to be, or the ones you despise. Keep your head screwed on straight, keep your nose clean, and you'll do just fine.

SF, and Happy Birthday.

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

Aren't there plenty of twenty year olds serving at present? And being able to file an axe is not really brain surgery.

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

Yep. Just a bunch college-aged bums for the most part!

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">According to a survey of Zucotti Park protesters by the Baruch College School of Public Affairs published on October 19, of 1,619 web respondents, 1/3 were older than 35, half were employed full-time, 13% were unemployed and 13% earned over $75,000. 27.3% of the respondents called themselves Democrats, 2.4% called themselves Republicans, while the rest, 70%, called themselves independents.</div></div>

I too sharpen with a file, then 300 grit sandpaper, then 400 grit...

I like em sharp.

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

The problem with these protestors is that A) they are being paid by George Soros. That's problem #1 - he's hiring people to do his protesting.

It was speculated that the KGB was infiltrating peace movements to try to get us out of Vietnam, KGB, SOcialism, communism, George Soros - they all end at the same destination.

But these older folks up there have 401k's - and/or pensions.

The younger people, well OK I would not mind if they had a valid argument....but I don't see one.

If you don't like hte way the country is changing VOTE TO CHANGE IT....That's how one specific president got elected - promising to change it (That is the end of that topic)...

Those pensions are investsed in the very banks and businesses they are protesting against.

THAT IS THE TRUE IRONY!!!!!!!!

I get irate when I see people pretend to be crazy, have 1-2 kids and draw in 3000 a month and THEN go work under the table.

Daughters mother - does just that except hte under the table, she just got back from a free gov trip to China for one month.

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

jericho, you're correct. Filing an ax is not brain surgery, and any fool with an ax and a file ought to have the ability to sharpen that ax. Sharpening the ax with a file is more than just the act of making a dull ax sharp, it's more about the act of a man taking action to improve his own situation instead of sitting back and waiting on someone else to come along and offer assistance.

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

well said hink, thats exactly what lester was getting at i think. my generation is pretty lazy in my eyes compared to the greater ones of the past that we are sadly losing on a daily basis. im not bashing ALL of the younger crowd. there is still plenty of my generation that has'nt served that are still contributing something useful to this dismal world. its just sad that modern day hippies are still tolerated.

Re: my, my, my how the times have changed...

The people who were adult-aged around the time of WWII must have said some of the same things when comparing themselves to their grandparents and great grandparents.

Running water, electricity, radio, telephones, cars, airplanes.
It must have seen like they were suddenly handed the world on a silver platter.
