Hi Forum

Just wanted to share the joy of my new rifle.

A while ago i was asking questions about rem 700 and scope. Thanks to all of you who helped me along!

The Rifle:

Remington 700 XCR LTR 20" .308 Win. all original factory with no mods.
Swarovski Z6i 2,5-15x56 BT
Leupold QRW mounts
Ken Farrel Picatinny rail
Harris bipod 25S
Pelicase 1720

Havn´t had it for long. bought it for hunting purposes mostly.

I am a reloader but havn´t found the time to load for it yet. Only tried the rifle with factory ammo for now. And only hunting rounds as it is just beginning of dear seson in Denmark and I needed to be ready for that.

Bought some remington scirocco 165gr with the rifle and found them not to be wery accurate???

Sorry for the poor quality pictures taken with cellphone from a poor monitor image!!!

The Remington accutip 165grs I got instead was okay(at 100 meters):

Have only tried a few hunting cartriges so far.

The most accurate yet is the Lapua mega 185 grs I had hidden away in the closet from a hunting trip some 6-7 years ago :)(also 100meters):

So all in all I am pretty happy with it for now.

I have on of these too. Great rifles. You might want to consider a GAP SSG bolt conversion. Relatively inexpensive. They can mill the stock for Badger Ord M5 bottom metal and you'll have the ultimate in handyness.

The Dane, great looking rifle. I'm not sure if it is a typo or just a model I'm unaware of, but you might not have exactly the rifle you think you do.

The 700 XCR Compact Tactical (which yours looks like ) is different from the LTR. I currently own an XCR Compact and I've owned an LTR in the past, so I'm somewhat familiar with both, and prefer the XCR Compact. They both have a fluted 20" barrel, but there are quite a few differences.

The LTR is a carbon steel rifle with parkerized finish. The XCR is stainless steel with Ionbond finish, so it is far more weather resistant. The XCR has the exceptional 40-X trigger, I do not believe the LTR does but I could be mistaken. The XCR Compact runs about $300 more dollars on average than the LTR and in my opinion it was worth it. Even the action seems smoother.

Regardless, you have a great rifle either way. I hope you get many years of great use out of it. By the way, that is a serious bipod. Is it for shooting from a seated position?

Pretty sure he's using the term loosely - it isn't 'THE LTR' but it's an LTR.. it's light, tactical and it's a rifle!

+1 Definatly worth the few extra hundred bucks
