I absolutely love it. I want to start off by saying "THANK YOU" to the fellas at POF and US Optics. I couldn't be more proud to be a shooter for such wonderful companies. The FedEx man delivered my optic today and I quickly mounted her up to go send a few. I have a USO QD mount on it's way so I just hastily threw her together and headed to the range. I send 30 rounds downrange with various loads to test. I was absolutely pleased to see all of my groups were sub minute with the vast majority of my groups measuring sub 3/4 minute. I had a handful of groups that were in the 1/2 MOA range. Needless to say I will be doing a lot of load development in the next few months but I'm absolutely thrilled with my success right out of the box. Attached is a pic of the rig and a couple of targets. I know they don't meet the "group" requirements for this site but they let people know you can buy one of these rifles with confidence. Again I would like to send a huge thank you to everyone @ POF and USO. You guys are the best!!!!!!

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

They will shoot 5 shot groups like that too.

How do you like the trigger. I don't know why they switched from the 2 stage gisselles.

Is that USO a 40mm objective. Looks like you have a perfect fit with your rings.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

What kind of rings are you using? How are you able to clear the objective lense on that USO? I can barely clear my Leupold 50 mm objective with the NF unimount. Thinking about the getting a 1/2" raiser.

It's a 44mm objective and the scope cap was just touching the rail (since removed).

It clears the objective (barely) but the scope cap was barely touching and was thus removed. I could cut the bottom of the scope cap out and it would fit just fine but I have a QD mount on the way.

Yup. You have to look around them slightly.

Have you tried the 175 SMK pills with that rifle? </div></div>

The COR-BON's were 175's and they shot great. I've also got some 175's with 43.5 Varget loaded as well as some with 44.O Varget. I'll give them a try this next week and when I find a few loads that she really likes I'll chrono some and post the results on this thread.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

I have been working on IMR4064. At 43.8 grains, LC brass, CCI200, and 2.800". I get about 2600 fps out of my 20" POF. But I get a little bit of feeding issue. Scott told me that the load might be a bit hot. Thinking of switching to a different brass, and perhaps Varget all together. Just wondering if I can get around 2600 fps with my 20" POF. Please let me know how it works out.

Not to get off topic and although different rifle, in my FNAR which is a 20" barrel and semi-auto with 44.0gr of Varget COAL 2.810" i get 2597-2605 ft/sec so you should be able to get there.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

Looks great....mine has an ST-10 on it. What height rings are those? The rifle has really opened my eyes to how accurate a good gas gun can be, I am happy to say.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

Beautiful setup Steve! I run the Ergo version of the same spec'd scope on my 20" 6.5C POF.

Not to hijack the topic, but this type question has popped up a lot lately-you folks do know that you can paint or mark a dot anywhere you can see the numbers and use it to zero to right? Personally I take a small drill bit in my cordless, lightly centerpunch where I want a dot so the bit doesn't walk, and run the drill in reverse to put a neat little dot through the scope tube's anodizing.

Those rings are Warne Maxima Tactical Rings "HIGH".

Not necessarily. My buddy has ben using RL15 and has been getting equally good results. I just happen to have a couple kegs of Varget on hand.

I use the IMR4064 for my AIAW with awesome result. Thought I tried it with the gas gun. Still working out the kinks. Will try the Varget and RL15 see if I can get better result.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

I think you need a little bit longer scope . lol just kidding that is one sweet looking stick . look forward to a range report.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

Nice setup you have there.

I have the same rifle with a 10X SS Scope.

Just got it this week and we are starting to get to know each other.

I started off with some factory rounds without much success.

Shot some 150 GR Remington UMC stuff (Walmart) and best group I could get was about 1.5" @ 100 Yards

Next I tried some Black Hills 168 match and it was worse. 2.3" @100 yrds.

Tried some Winchester White Box 147 and it was even worse. About 6" @100 yrds. WTF?

So I decided to take a whack with an educated guess starter load using the Black Hills cases, WLR primers, 175 SMK over 42.6 Gr. of IMR 4046.

Hallelujah!

scan0001.jpg

That is a .825" 5 shot group so we are in the ball park.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

great looking grouping!

I still need to get the courage and time to work up some loads for my POF.

Glad to see there are others out there getting awsome groupings with POF.

I never doubted the accuracy and the more I see postings like these the more confident I am in my own gun.

I get decent groupings with mine using the FGMM 168's and im pretty sure those groups will get smaller with some hand loads.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

Range Report: 10/10/10.

- She doesn't seem to like 168gr. FGMM. I went through a box today and the groups ranged from 1-1.5 MOA. Shot a group of COR-BON 175gr. match and she came right back down to 5/8". I'm working up some hand loads and I'll post an updated report in a week or so.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

Nice looking Stick Steve!! You will be rocking the house with that bad boy!!

Thanks Tony. I'm loving my new Impact Data Book. That thing makes recording info a breeze. You sir have a very fine product and I'm glad to be using it.

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

More testing today. I got my new USO "QD" mount and re-mounted the scope. I then went to the range a did a quick test on four different loads. I only shot (1) five shot group with each load so I still need to do some further testing on them all. The rifle only has 75 rounds down the barrel and is sure a pleasure to shoot. It seems that as the powder charge went up the groups got tighter but as I stated before this was just a quick test. Here's todays results.

Load #1
43gr. Varget
175 SMK
Lapua Brass
CCI Primers
5-shot group measured 1 1/4".

Load #2
43.5gr Varget
175 SMK
Lapua Brass
CCI Primers
5-shot group measured 1 1/8".

Load #3
44 gr Varget
175 SMK
Lapua Brass
CCI Primers
5-shot group measured 1".

Load #4
44.5 gr Varget
175 SMK
Lapua Brass
CCI Primers
5-shot group measured 5/8".

Re: My new rig (POF/USO)!!!

Steve looks like the 44.5 grains is the choice there. Don't forget to update us on the velocity you are getting with that charge.

I am getting subMOA with my POF 20" also. But it's with IMR4064 43.8" using winchester brass instead of LC. I got about 2600 fps.

Roger that. I will be doing some more testing this coming Friday and I will chrono the load as well. I'll be sure to let you fellas know the results. Steve.
