Just picked up my first Ruger RPR in 6mm Creedmoor because i found a great deal on this one. My original intention was to rebarrel to 6.5 cm because I didn't have any loading gear for 6creed yet. Setup is completely factory with a Leupold 8.5-25LRP, AAC SD 7.62. I bought 50 brass and gave it a try. All I can say is that I am impressed...

First target shot for load workup is above. Using Hornady 105 bthp and h4350. Showing a node at load #3 which was h4350 38.5 gr. Not looking for speed just sheer accuracy.

Below is the next set of targets out. Replaced scope with a Leupold 8.5-25 LRP. Again showing the node at 38.5 gr. The pic below that is with Sierra 107s and h4350. Found the magic juju with this combo. The groups are tight, little vertical and the node is wide. Shot this target 30 degrees aff sandbags. No chrony this day. Just too cold.

Can't wait to get it back out. Sticking with the Sierra's now. Bottom target is 39, 39.5, 40, and 40.5 great h4350, win primers, Hornady brass 1x at 2.790 coal.

Looking good. I have the 308. Sierra’s work great. That’s pretty much all I use. I’ve found the Nosler Custom brass to produce very good results as well. Check out the RPR section here and enjoy!

Thanks Long... Will cross post. I believe the Sierra's will bring more accuracy than I could have hoped for. Going to try a few more pics of charges then will start depth tests and update.

One thing ...does anyone else have the toolkit on the bolt shroud keep coming loose and rattling around?

I do not. I have shot my RPR in 6creed a good amount with no problems.

I have very similar results. I use the Berger 105 Hybrids though. What's nice is I can use the same load in my GAP10 6mm Creedmoor and they are equally accurate. I really enjoy the 6mm Creedmoor over the 6.5 Creedmoor.

I’m waiting on a Cadex Sheepdog in 6mm Creedmoor. Looking to do load development. Purpose is to hit steel at 500-1000M. Have access to Hornady and Berger bullets. Can you guys please share your recipes? Thanks much in advance.

That last target was with Sierra's. This is the target that shows great promise. Left to right h4350 39gr, 39.5gr, 40gr, and 40.5gr. Winchester large rifle primers, Hornady brass 1x fired trimmed to recommended length (can't recall right now) and 2.790 coal. Will definitely post updated info soon

Varget is gonna be too fast, unless u are gonna be running 55-70gr varmint bullets. The 6creed rpr I had, criterion prefit, shot 105 hybrids and 107smk equally good. I was running 41.8 with 107 and 42 with 105, h4350. It was running 3175(107)and 3190fps(105).

I see loads for 100 gr max range bullets on the hogdon site and have seen mention of some using a lighter charge for the 107 range bullets.

I should have been more clear, u can use varget, but it really isnt optimal for bullets over 70ish gr. You will give up a decent amount of speed with it, you will hit pressure before good velocity. A powder like h1000 or 4831sc is at opposite end, they're too slow a d you'll have case full before u get pressure/speed. Varget and h4895 are ideal burn rate for br, bra, dashers case capacity, but a just too fast burn for creed case capacity. If u have some by all means try it, but I bet the speed will be sloow.

I've shot both 6.5 and 6mm Creedmoor's in both similarly configured gas and bolt guns. Generally in the 6.5 I was shooting 140 gr bullets and in the 6, I shoot 105 gr bullets.

Nailing down a load. The Sierra's group better than the Hornady. The bottom two groups consist of H4350 with 39.0 and 40.5 respectively. .614" and .314" respectively. The lower left is a tight group and the one out of the group was my fourth shot I would call a choke. May go with this load to save barrel life. Again no chrony this day. No concerned with speed just accuracy. next step depth test with Sierra 107 and 39.0 gr h4350

Had an opportunity to shoot today. Reshot 2,4, 5 with results below. Looks like Sierra 107 with 40.5 gr h4350 is it. Yesterday's 4 shot group .314" and today .210". I don't think a depth test will improve much but may give it a go. Next up is a 6x5.

Working on my depth test. Each of these are 4 shot groups. Seems to prefer more freebore. Still need to get it out more but def shows more promise than I could've hoped for. Groups 1-4 are the RPR. The middle group are sighters for another gun.

2.820" is the longest I've tried. I didn't run into any indication that I was in the lands that day. Seems to be preferring a bit of travel as 2.775 shows promise.

This gun is amazing. I have not one compliant with it yet. Except I would like to shoot it more often. The accuracy is astonishing for a factory gun in this price range.
