Maggie’s My Son the 9 Yr Old Philosopher

Not the normal posting, but it brought a smile of pride in me.


This morning my son was watching the cartoon "Penguins of Madagascar" and says;

[Son says] "Guess who doesn't like war?... Hippies."

[Wife says] "Well honey that's because the Hippies were a group of people who wanted peace."

[Son's reply] "Well you have to fight the war to get the peace Mom".

Thank you for militant penguin cartoons!

Thanks old95b10 & Speedgoat_ Junkie - He's our third child and the only one who was born after my wife and I left active duty and not been immersed in the active duty family life.

We've been concerned with the whittling away of awareness (and ideals) of "service before self" in our local school system.

I guess we harp on the right things at home.
