My Manners stock just arrived on Friday, so I was finally able to install my rifle into it, along with the Seekins bottom metal and Atlas bipod. This is my dream rifle! The only other order of business will be to glass bed, which I've done before and am excited to do again.

Specs:
Remington 700 SPS-V .308 win
Timney trigger
Manners T2 90% carbon fiber stock
BALS MK2 Stock pack w/ integrated bean bag
Seekins Precision bottom metal (AI mags)
Seekins Precision rings
Atlas 8.1 bipod
Leupold Mk4 3.5-10x44mm (w/flash kill installed)
EGW 20MOA one-piece base
Badger Ordinance bolt handle (installed by previous owner)
Cerakote by Todd @ Phantom Finishing
Bartlein M24/M40 (cut to 20" and chambered by Marc @ Spartan Rifles)
Action & bolt trued by Marc @ Spartan Rifles

On Tuesday, I'll be taking it to the range to re-zero and run some test loads. Range report to follow.

I can't thank Marc enough for the fantastic work he did on this beauty. That man is a genius with a lathe!

Special thanks to Todd @ Phantom, Glen @ Seekins, and Kasey @ Accushot for their support on each individual part that I've asked them about and finally installed on this rig. Additional thanks to Keith and Mike @ TacOps for the awesome deal on my MultiCam drag bag that it now rests peacefully inside of.

Now, the photos...

Update:

Just got back from the range. The scope alignment was WAY off, but I expected that much since I had to send it back to Leupold recently. After sighting it in with some Southwest Ammo 175gr rounds, I sent 15 rounds of my own downrange. The rifle seems to enjoy this recipe the best:
175gr SMK
Lapua brass
44.0 - 44.5gr Varget
2.80" COAL

I rushed myself when I took these shots and when I packed the rifle up I noticed that the ADM mount for the Atlas bipod was a bit loose, so I was fighting it the whole time unknowingly.

The rifle seems to kick a lot more in the Manners stock than it used to in the B&C. I suspect that the carbon fiber option may be a contributing factor. Hopefully the added weight from glass bedding will help to tame it. Then again, my shoulder hasn't had this abuse in a while from lack of range trips, maybe it's just me.

Eric that rifle will shoot a helluva lot better than that or I'll buy it back from you and build you another one. Guaranteed.

Once it's bedded, you get your scope issue worked out, you get your bipod secured and you don't have a problem with the recoil (you mentioned a shoulder pounding so you are probably flinching a little) I expect it to be a one hole gun. Again if not then let me know right away.

Absolutely, the inaccuracy in these shots are all me. The rifle is solid. The bedding compound is on it's way. I'll provide another range report as soon as I can, but this time I'll be patient with my shots to show what this bad boy is capable of.

Correct, 100 yards.

I wish I could! My parents are going to be in town, so I have to entertain them instead. :\ Next month though, for sure!

Re: My Spartan Rem700 (with glamour shots)

I just took another look at the bipod issue that I described earlier. After un-mounting the Atlas, I discovered that both screws that hold on the rail were about six turns loose! I'll be contacting Manners to let them know about the issue and to ask if they have a recommended torque value for these screws. I might throw a little bit of loctite on the threads as well to prevent this in the future.

Damn.

New rule or at least one I did not know about. Was thinking about posting some rifle pics but will have to find a friend with a pool first... Does photo shopping it in next to a pool count??
