Figured I would show a crappy cell pic of what I turned my Stevens 200 into. Shot it at 1000 yards and its amazing how accurate it is if I am doing my part.

Great looking budget build. What did that cost to build minus the scope? And same question as above, who's barrel is that, McGowan?

Barrel is a 26" Criterion. I highly recommend Jim Briggs at NSS if you go with the Criterion. Of course, it came in stainless and after some time I painted the barrel. I will probably do the action as well.
Minus the scope and bipod, I am in it for around $670. This does not count selling off the factory stock ($20) and barrel ($70).

This is what it will do if I do my part correctly. This is a 5 shot group from 100 yards. Should read "Amax" and not "Vmax" like I wrote on it.
That's great! I had a Stevens 200, but got so frustrated w/ it that I gave up. Mind giving more build details? I might have to get it back from my bro and do a build like this.
I would recommend it especially if he isn't doing anything with it.

I was kinda proud of this group last night. Cant quite get to 100 yards in my back yard so this is 90-93 yards. 8 shot group.
Congrats and welcome to the addiction. That rifle is exactly how I started out.
