Gunsmithing MY XD slide needs refinished

I bought a suposed to be like new xd40 from a dude on GB and the pistol arrived today. Well i am a little more that disapointed as the slide has terrible holster wear. The dude refused to refund my money, so now i am going to have to deceide, live with it or have the slide refinished. The xd is all black and i like the black finish so i will just have it redone this way if i so choose so. My question is, what finish do i want and who can do this? thanks Lee

I used ceramacoat by Wheeler Engineering for my XD that had horrible holster wear. One spray can, good prep and 20 dollar toaster oven and BAM new looking pistol. For the money I spent, I couldn't be happier. When I sold it to a friend, I told him I had refinished it and he didn't believe me at first. I did thousands of draws over a year after I did it and no wear at all. Probably not as good as Cerakote, but good results none the less.

Call springfield. they might do it for free. ive heard of them doing that before. if not for free, they dont charge an arm and a leg. also you could just find a good smith local to your area and have it cerakoted.

check out controlled chaos they do cerakote for good prices and great work.
