Mystery Ranch Range Bag

Eberlestock bang bang is a good option too. If it were a bit bigger I'd have one already, I went with the upranger for a hold everything rifle range bag. Probably gonna snag one for a pistol only kind of set up.

Upranger is a monster. Eberlestock makes some great tactical gear at the higher end of the market. Their R1 is a hefty competitor in that size range for sure.

I have the Mystery Ranch. While it’s not part of their USA made line (only the military stuff is and you can tell by the price tag) it is made in Vietnam IIRC and WAAAAAAAAY higher quality than the Chinese Midway junk and also a bit higher quality than the 5.11 and Eberlestock bags.

I love the layout of the bag and it’s easily the best nylon range bag I’ve used. With that said, I still prefer the 3 tier Dewalt toolbox cart on wheels I’ve been using the last couple years to haul gear to the range. It takes the weight off your shoulders and doesn’t scream “gun gear” when sitting in your car or truck.

I'd be willing to pay a little more if they made it in America. That's a shame.

Wonder what the cost would be to repatriate something like that

The US Labor would be expensive.......

but......

In the age of "The New Green Deal" the fact it isnt just shows me what a scam GW is and enforces my suspicion that the elimination of the US middle class is a planned operation.

Why do we saddle our domestic manufacturers with costly regulation for the good of the worker and environment than allow foreign companies to build our shit avoiding those same "good" rules?

What sense environmentally does it make to ship a product like a bag from the PI to the US on a bunker oil burning ship. Make that bag out of multicam you ship the material there and than back in some cases.

Shit is getting ridiculous lately with the low value of products.

My wife has bought some big furniture pieces and when they arrived damaged the seller instead of asking for return has just sent replacement and told her to dispose of the item......$800 coffee table with a small blemish throw it away.....fill the landfill.

Demand our shit be made here, give our workers work, demand durable goods.

Options without Covid 19 built in...

Im not as pure as I preach.

Sometimes the foreign option is chosen out of budget constraints or as the better option but for soft goods the US stuff that is available is really good stuff.

Me too but it’s still very high quality and at least it’s not made in China. I’ve got several overseas MR bags and they are great. I’ve got a MR urban assault 24L pack that I’ve been carrying every day for about a year now and it doesn’t show any signs of wear. I carry a Sig MPX that has a muzzle device with sharp edges plus some sharp edges on the rest of the gun in the computer slot of the bag and not even that material has shown any wear. I was concerned about that and considered having a cordura sleeve/insert made to slide in there and protect it but it has proven to be a 100% non issue.

I’ve got the Tactical Tailor competition shooting bag.
It is US made, very well designed and constructed, but it costs $275.
I got mine on sale 5+ years ago. At this point unless I got a deal, I would get the best Asian made bag I could buy. $275 is a lot to pay for a range bag.

To piggy back on the above, I've got the Tactical Tailor Range/Multipurpose Bag that's linked above, I use the large version for travel. For that purpose it's great but as a range bag, not so much, you're paying about $100 for three zippered compartments and no internal organization so all your stuff just rolls around. That Mystery Ranch bag brings a lot to the table for $150.

I've been rather harsh on my lynx defense bags, and they put up with everything. American made, and optional inserts so you can get it compartmentalized however you like it.

They can also do custom, in case you're interested different colours or tiffany blue stitching. Which I totally would have done, had it been an option when I ordered mine.

The tactical tailor stuff is sharp -- I haven't heard of them before. But I think you're right from a pure value proposition viewpoint.

The built-in gun mat is an interesting feature, there. MR doesn't have that, I don't think.

I've used Tactical Tailor stuff starting out in 2004 when I went to Afghanistan and still use it to this day. A lot of their tactical nylon is awesome and a pretty good value but like many things some are better values than others.
