Looking for some input. Wanting to get another setup built. Currently shooting a pva built tl3 rock creek cut rifled 24 inch 6.5 creed. I’m thinking I want to play with the 6 creed. I love the entire setup but curious about all the other options for actions and smiths. Looking for input on all aspects from caliber to the build. Thanks

I’m not one to turn someone away from buying more actions, but the TL3 is already one of the best actions on the market. If you are just looking to see if the 6mm is for you, I say get yourself a prefit shouldered barrel, a barrel vice and some pretty dang good ammo and save some cabbage.

However, if there is cash just waiting to be spent, the Hide will assist in depleting.

As for calibers you will find a nice mix of 6mm out there and we will need a lil more info... like, do you want factory ammo or are you handloading? I shoot the 6creed currently and really like it.

Totally agree on getting just a barrel but I feel like I need a whole new rifle. Been awhile. Like I said I absolutely love the tl3 I guess I was more looking for people who had a tl3 and loved them then tried something else and chose that over the tl3. Feel like it would be hard to beat but there’s a lot of new stuff out there that I haven’t handled and seeing what people think.

What do you like and what do you dislike about your TL3 action?

There's a plethora of great action options these days. Do you have a "go-to" gunsmith? They would be a good resource.

For a 2 lug push feed, I'm loving my wife's Lone Peak Fuzion. Another favorite action of mine is the ARC Mausingfield, which sits on my comp rifle. That one is CRF, and will have more similarities to your TL3.

I too love my Lone Peak Fuzion. And if you are looking for a gun smith to do the work you can't go wrong with TS Customs in my opinion.

I decided to give the 6GT a try but I very nearly convinced my self to go 6cm also.

I do like the tl3 because of the crf being as I use arc mags and they run flawless.

I have been giving the impact a look seems very well liked. Even some tl3 owners switching over. The lone peak looks pretty close to the impact. I have not heard about that action may have to look into it. I wanna shoot 6 creed as I do reload but it’s nice being able to grab some factory when needed especially when Hornady is shooting like hand loads at least in my 6.5 and Valkyrie.

The lone peaks don't seem to be as popular as some of the other actions. I've never seen or read anything from somebody that has one with something bad to say about them though. I'm planning on picking up a Lone Peak Razor soon and building a hunting rifle for it.

get a Impact Action, and order a tube on the same web page, the tools(action wrench and barrel vise) are a one time purchase.

I have a rifle incoming from Straight Jacket that should arrive this week if UPS does their stuff. Can't vouch yet for accuracy, but so far their status updates and working through build choices has been great. Others have provided great feedback on their accuracy so I don't have any concerns there. They currently have a sale on pre-fits & barelled actions

I had a TL-3. It’s a fantastic action, but I didn’t like the mechanical ejection. I tended to not run the bolt fast enough while watching for splash and didn’t get full ejection. Sold it to a friend who was in the market.

Last year I won an Impact 737 in a raffle. I wasn’t looking to build another rifle, but decided I wanted to try a Foundation stock. The impact is every bit as good as the TL-3 in quality. I think the Impact runs a little smoother than the TL-3 and the positive ejection works for me.

I liked/like both rifles, but I don’t love them. I shoot more NRA Highpower than PRS and love the feeling of breaking shots with my T2k’s. I’ll be going back to one of those for my PRS shooting.

I haven’t shot any better with any one of those three rifles. They all shoot great and are capable of wins.

Who cares what the owner is like. Are you shooting bullets out of the owners ass? Mark LaRue at Larue tactical is an example where people don’t like him, however, he builds amazing rifles . As such, at the end of the day if the product is great, as well as the service, I don’t care about the owner.

I’ve heard that as well, however did the supposed refinements make any difference? Of course he’s going to say that, as he started a competing company. Has anyone run them side-by-side and thought one was better than the other ?
