Guys I just ordered my nine year old a Remington 700 SPS Youth in 7mm-08, yes I had to buy him a gun since he and his brother are southpaws. Now I would like to get a quality little scope for the rifle that provides some ample eye relief, in the past he was shooting a 22 Chipmunk with iron sights, so the scoped rifle is going to be a step up, any suggestions from parents or other Hide members that have gone this route before.

Both of my grandsons shoot 7mm-08 for Mule deer, great choice. Look at the Vortex Crossfire and Diamondback, I have an assortment of Vortex optics and believe the quality far exceeds thier cost point.
Best wishes to you and your family.

Leupolds and Redfields have about as long of eye relief as anything, in the vicinity of 4" on most if not all models.

Redfield Revolution accu-range reticle. Zero for max point blank range. Circle makes it easier to define the kill zone. Plenty of eye relief.

Gentlemen thanks for the advice, went down to my local store and looked at a little Leupold VX1 2-7x33, I think it will work fine, generous eye relief, I did compare it with the Redfield, thought the Leupold was a little more forgiving.
Thanks again to all
