So when the .300 blk first got big I bought one of AACs micro 7 rifles. It's a sweet little 16" bolt action .300 blk but the problem is it uses the Remington model 7 action and so I'm wondering if anybody knows of a good chassis or stock for this compact action. The only chassis I've found so far is the MDT LSS.

I have the exact same AAC model seven 300 blk. Cool little gun.

I bought the MDT LSS for it. Worked well but I went back to the original stock.

I made the mistake of getting the folding mechanism and that made the length of pull too long. I think an XLR butt stock would have been a better option to go with that chassis.

That's good to know, I have an LSS on my rem 700 .308 and it's cool but I'm not that impressed with it so didn't plan on going that route again for this one. Just wish they weren't the only ones thinking about the model 7 when it comes to chassis.

XLR makes the Element for model 7 I think. Way better looking also.

Agreed but a disclaimer from their website
"To install our chassis system, the rear action screw hole in the Remington Model 7 action will need to be drilled and tapped to accommodate the large ¼”-28 action screws utilized by our chassis systems. It is recommended that modifications be performed by a competent gunsmith."

Eesh yea I don't like that part I guess. Not that big of deal but makes a guy think he needs to play around with one before he pulls the trigger on buying. If it turns out I don't like it now I have a bigger hole in my action and would have to drill out whatever new stock or chassis I end up with later.

I have the MDT HS3 with Hera folding mechanism and I am very happy with that setup, I had it before in Mcmillam A5 and find the HS3 bedding much better and it allows to use AICS magazines.
if you are intrested I am looking to sell the mcmillan
