I am looking to purchase a pvs 22 sight system here soon. I already have a pvs 14, so, I am a bit familiar with NV but have never used a pvs 22. what things should I look for? any advice? caution? current deals?

any information would be greatly appreciated.

You can also give us a call, we sell a good amount of these devices and have sold a good amount here on the hide as well. Be glad to assist.

Adam, call Victor @ TNVC and ask him about the OSTI MilSpec PVS-22. Sure, it's expensive, but you can legally buy it right now and you will not be dissapointed. Plus, you can easily use it on a number of rifles.
I use mine on a 24" Broughton/Lawton .308 AICS with USO SN-3 3.2-17X44, as well as ARs with the USO SN-3 1.8-10X37, Nightforce NSX 3.5-15X50, TA11C, TA55A, and TA31F ACOGs.

If you are really into long range, you might consider the PVS-27, bigger, heavier, more expensive, but a lot more range at night.
There is also a budget version of the 22, the BNS, but it doesn't have variable gain if my info is right, so I would stick with the MilSpec model if at all possible.
I also have a D-760 6X GenIII, as well as a PVS-14.
Don't fail to consider the fixed D-740/760, a bargain at their price! Likewise, the Raptors.
Don't hesitate to message me if you have any more questions and we can get together on a phone call.

Re: Need advice; best pvs 22

I know you asked for info on a PVS22,but tell more about your host weapon and scope your useing, whats the Target range,AO and do you want to carry this cliped on the weapon..There are more options out there and one may be better for the aplication..

Edwin
The BNS has gain control a better warranty and cheaper,The BNS also had better performance than the Milspec pvs22 we used side by side.It could be the other way on the next one..
If want to see some Hi perfromance Night Vision the AQUILLA 6X with filmless tube is the Kit to see..

Re: Need advice; best pvs 22

ASM1, one of these days I'm going to get over there in person, I feel pretty lucky with the NV I've got, performance has been excellent, zero POI problems.
The AQUILLA 6X filmless is better than that 6X Raptor? That would be a something to see!
I thought my GenIII D-760 was good till I saw a good Raptor!

Sorry I am now just getting back to this. I was called out of town very short notice, without a comp, and got back in 2 nights ago and for some reason, when my phone pulls up the hides web site, it won't show my that i have received posts on my thread.

So, first, thanks everyone for your reply's. I hope to be making a decision some time this coming week and get something ordered.

now,

The host weapon will be a DPMS SASS w/ Leupold MK4 3.5-10x40mm. As I already have a PVS 14 which will be going into a helmet mounted device, I do not plan on carrying the PVS 22 mounted on the weapon until I need it. I will also want the device to be able to be switched to a HS Precision HTR, if I needed to go that route.

Another question, the SASS has a suppressor on it, so muzzle flash is irrelevant, however, I don't have a suppressor for the HS HTR. I have shot quite a bit at night, and un-suppressed rifles always kill the NVs for a few seconds, but there is a world of difference b/t my new PVS 14 and my older night vision monocular (I forget the make). How is a pvs 22 on an un-suppressed rifle?

Thanks again all
