I have a winchester mod 70 classic receiver LA with .473 bolt face. It's in .30-06 right now but I'm going to have it rebarreled to .338-06.
I was kicking the idea around in my head about doing a switch barrel set up on this in either .284 Win or .280 Rem as a second caliber.
1. Due to the design, is the mod 70 receiver blue printed the same way as you would a rem 700?
2. How difficult would it be to do a switch barrel set up on this action with a barrel needing an extractor cut?
3. Which method of "swithbarreling" would work best, or at all with this action?
4. Is it even worth it or should I just stick with my .338-06 idea?
Thank you for the answers, input and opinions.
