I just finished my 300 PRC build. I'm using an AICS legacy 2.0 LA chassis for 300wm. The 300 PRC round is too long for the magazine.

I purchased a MDT 300 PRC magazine and it does not fit in the magwell of my chassis.

One option is to have my 300 wm magazine tuned to fit the thickness of the PRC round, but then I will have to load my round shorter.

Another option is to have a machine work done on the Magwell to fit a 300prc mag correctly.

Third option is to try to sell the chassis and buy one appropriate for the round I'm using.

Can I get any feedback from you guys? What would you do in the situation? Would a shorter round change much of my desired outcome for ELD Shooting? I know I would have to back off the powder charge due to a higher pressure increase from a deeper seating depth.

Again, I just finished my build and noticed this today.

Thanks in advance

I'd sell the chassis you have (or keep it for another build, ideally) and get one that will accommodate the mags you need to use. No sense permanently modifying a magwell or potentially neutering your loads as a band-aid fix just to use a certain chassis.

You’re going to have to shorten it too far to shoot a WM length. Prc is cip length. Either single feed, buy a new chassis, or swap to a win mag barrel

Depending on how the magwell is setup it’s an easy modification to lengthen the magwell to CIP spec length. I had to do exactly this on my Ultradyne chassis. Took me a little bit of work with a file on the edges of the magwell but it works fine

Do you really need a repeater for ELR shooting?
My ELR loads have zero chance of fitting into a magazine. I just drop them on top of the follower and rock on.

If you feel it cuts into your time, then your setup and procedure needs a lot of work.
I set my rounds on a small towel. They are placed where I can grasp them without breaking my position.

I know it’s a bit pricey but these are super nice for loading and not having sandy ammo.

Those have been around a long, long time.
Pretty sure they started out with the BR guys.
Have you seen the ones made out of exotic woods? OMG!!
I've had mine for 6-7 years- I shot f class for a while. I have but the ability to break these down flat is awesome since I already haul too much stuff to the range
