Need help! AI bolt just failed/fell apart today at the range

Actions are bonded to chassis to "bed" them to fill voids and increase accuracy just like customs are bedded. Those screws don't back off unless they're messed with... and both screws at the same time... what are the odds of that? Also not sure how those bolts could shear at the very top of the shroud instead of shearing at the head if this were the case.

I'd put my money on the screws being severely overtightened and they were finally stressed enough from firing to fail. That also explains how they could both fail at the same time.

No matter how robust you make a gun, you can't make it fool proof. Over tighten shit and it's gonna break. Period.

The firing pin on my AXMC SFP assembly broke with no rounds, AI sent me a FedEx label. Hopefully I'll have it resolved soon-ish because our local range is open.

I feel like this is pretty out of context. Just looked through your post and saw that you received it as bent as could be.... (clearly dropped or mishandled by someone) it didn’t come off a machine that way.

Not saying it was a manufacturing issue, just stating that it sucks to have a bolt go down. It's like the Twilight Zone episode where the guy who survives the nuclear holocaust breaks his glasses right when he "had all the time in the world" for reading (but in this case it's shooting).

The way you worded your post makes it seems like it was just defective and broke. Not the case and kinda fucked up to put negative press on a company for your error.

What?

I was stating that I received a FedEx label from AI because the OP's issues that they've had since November were USPS related, more of me saying that they aren't dicking around with USPS for bolts to come in it seems.

My original post about my firing pin issue states that I'm sure AI will resolve the issue but the timing sucks. Ordered the assembly from EO in February but didn't have my ZCO until late March. I did not open and inspect my bolt assembly before then. The bolt was missing the extractor but Adam from MHSA sent me a replacement. I had contacted EO before then and they put me in contact with AI about the issue and they were more than willing to get everything resolved quickly. The only reason I noticed the firing pin was bent was due to me taking the firing pin assembly out for the first time and noticing it was bent. I contacted AI right away and have had great responses and service from them since.

I'm not saying that it is an issue with AI or EO in any way, this type of thing happens when parts are being shipped all over and being roughly handled while shipping. My sole intention from the post was to state that AI was using FedEx for my bolt work and that I can fully sympathize with the OP in not having a working bolt.

There is one thing I would love to know from you though, how is this my error?

Edit: The person at AI that I've been in contact with from the start has been Tim and he has been amazing in his responses!

People do screw up their equipment and then blame the manufacturer.

The OP here put up a really negative thread last week about Prime ammo saying " Shot 260 rds of Prime since the lock down and it is the worst ammo i have ever shot out of my rifle"...blah blah...now he's blaming AI....blah blah......

The Prime thread he started went on a while and then he came back to say "If I clean the barrel and exclusively shoot prime all is well'. In the meantime, a whole bunch of people have read that thread and it doesn't read well for Prime or their brand.

Some of these manufacturers have the patiences of saints !

really negative? you should read it , I was looking for advice and got the answer, if I wanted it to be negative it would have read so... that’s what forums are for to find out problem shoooters are having . When Jim called me he didn’t take it as negative so move on.. so what’s negative about the first post?...can you quote the part where I blamed AI? .....

You mean the range report section? I was reporting what I was experiencing at the range.. hahha am I supposed to not say anything? Good thing I did because I know how to fix a problem that is Common with certain ammo and helped other shooters as well. and when I found out the problem I updated the title. It’s ok to discuss problems you are having with your gear... don’t be so sensitive

The “poors” come out........

Defensive much...... or are you just one of those morons who think their precious manufactures won’t break because of the cost?

And for the record, it was a joke. I would not own a savage. It was a statement saying everything breaks no matter what the cost.
You are bitching at DThomas for missing your joke when you missed his.
