Need help re steyr ssg 69

Hi there,

i own a steyr ssg 69 with iron sights from front and back of barrel

how do i remove them? there does not seem to be any sign or screw etc ..

please help

Hi,

I think you will find that the sights are "sweated" or "soldered" on to the barrel. I have never removed mine, but I have seen a used SSG that had the irons removed & it looked like a botched job.

Maybe a higher base rather than destroy the piece ?

i need the sight off to screw cut the barrel for muzzle brake!

that is why i need it off ......

Good rifle though none the less ;p
