AICS 1.5, Remington 700 action. Right now I'm running a NF NXS with Seekins .97 high rings. Even with the cheek piece all the way down My Impact Sport muffs interfere. Using plugs and muffs because of the brake but to get behind the scope the muff seems to come away. I really don't want to lose anymore hearing than I already have, so I assume perhaps I need higher rings on top of the Badger 20MOA rail. Am I correct? If so how high? Please don't tell me to buy a suppressor since I don't want to spend the money or wait the wait.
The AICS is a new animal to me so I could use some suggestions.

If you have good cheek weld in every way aside from the ear muffs then getting higher rings wont fix it. It will just move your problem up higher.

Now, if you dont then maybe some higher rings will let you get your face a bit more vertical and thus rotate your ear to clear the muff a bit. But I would imagine that you would have trouble with a good sight picture if that were the case.

Have you tried some lower profile muffs? You absolutely need consistent cheek weld, anything less will result in inconsistencies and more issues with felt recoil.
I can certainly understand double protection while running a brake, that's why I run suppressed!! :D:LOL::ROFLMAO:
You may need to get some help and try to discover where, exactly, your muffs are getting knocked loose.
A higher cheek piece as a result of the higher rings may solve the issue while allowing a proper cheek weld

My Impact Sport Muffs hit the cheek piece on my AI, but my Peltor's do not hit the cheek piece. I would just get lower profile muffs - changing your entire scope setup just to fix your hearing protection interference problem is kinda doing things backwards.

in order to get a good cheek weld with my Rem700 with AT 1.5 was to remove the spacer from the cheek pad and buy the target buttplate and adjusted it down to a good level.
Or, get lower profile muffs. ;)
